Irish record labels: "260 websites objectionable"

Irish record labels have said that they are seeking for more than one website (The Pirate Bay) to be blocked and have a list of websites which they find “objectionable”.

As Krank.ie previously reported, EMI Records [Ireland] Ltd, Sony Music Entertainment [Ireland] Ltd, Universal Music Ireland Ltd and Warner Music Ireland Ltd are bringing proceedings against UPC,Vodafone, Digiweb, Imagine and Hutchison 3G, seeking an injunction forcing internet service providers (ISPs) to block popular file-sharing website The Pirate Bay.

Details about today’s proceedings were posted on McGarr solicitors site today, revealing that Irish record labels have a list of 260 websites that they “identified as being objectionable”.

The case will continue in January.
