Most people have probably heard of Richard Dawkins at this point. Many know him simply as ‘the atheist’, while others know him for his books about evolutionary biology. Some even recognise him from films. A divisive character; some see him as a snooty and charmless representative of the old upper classes, while others see him as a dry humoured and whimsical sage. One thing very few would have suspected of Dawkins, however, is his ability to meld his brand of very scientific thinking with trippy 90s style techno house music!
While Dawkins’ speech at the recent Saatchi and Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase is perfectly interesting in its own right, skip on to around 4:55 and watch as things get truly psychedelic (possibly not suitable for those with photosensitive epilepsy)!
It’s strangely catchy. I’m not sure if it will help the kids get down with science, but I just saw Richard Dawkins play some form of kazoo in front of a kaleidoscope background… To me, that has to count as some sort of religious experience (if you’ll pardon the expression).
