Suddenly the ambient lighting is switched off and dazzling spotlights cast 12 foot shadows of the band onto the large white screens that have been moved into place behind them as the songs reaches its crescendo. It’s a pretty impressive, yet simple, start to the show, and is very effective in building the exhilaration of the crowd. The stage hands are kept busy throughout the night, as the stage and backdrops are constantly moved and rearranged, and spotlights are hand-held in front of the band creating atmospheric shadows and silhouettes.
