Industrial rock trend-setters Nine Inch Nails played their first ever live show in Belfast on the 21st of August as part of the Belsonic 2013 festival. In one of his few interactions with the crowd, Frontman Trent Reznor tells his fans “It’s good to finally get here. Thanks for sticking around.” It is the only Irish show on their 2013 tour.

Local Belfast band And So I Watch You From Afar (ASIWYFA) warmed up the Custom House Square earlier in the evening with their mostly instrumental rock. There is a small group of enthusiastic fans towards the front of the crowd, but most of those gathered seem to be just chilling out, enjoying their beers, and not really paying too much attention to the stage. However, as the four-piece group bound around on-stage energetically, their vigour rubs off on the rest of the audience as they begin to move in unison to the infectious rhythm of their music.
